Moe’s Southwest Grill Adds Limited-Edition Spicy Chicken to the Menu

When life gets drab, you want to mix things up—add some spice, if you will. Well, Moe’s Southwest Grill decided to shake up its menu by adding spicy chicken as a protein option.

Moe’s limited-edition spicy chicken takes the fast-casual chain’s all-natural adobo chicken up a notch with a “kicked-up” sauce and diced jalapeños. I was invited to an exclusive tasting event at the Moe’s location in Virginia Beach and got to try this new menu option ahead of its nationwide release on March 23.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Spicy Chicken

Diners can enjoy Moe’s spicy chicken, for a limited time, on any of the restaurant’s entrées. While my go-to Moe’s order is typically the Chicken Club Quesadilla, I decided to switch things up and order the spicy chicken on a burrito.

I made my way down the burrito assembly line, customizing my entrée with all the fixings that I thought would best complement the spicy chicken. The end result was a spicy chicken burrito with black beans, mild salsa, cheese, guacamole and sour cream.

Moe’s tender, juicy spicy chicken isn’t a palate scorcher, but the chili pepper-flavored sauce had just enough heat to feel a burn after each bite. The guac and sour cream I added to my burrito came in handy when I needed to cool down my tastebuds after a bite into a piece of jalapeño.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Slushies

Pair your spicy chicken meal with a frosty Icee drink, now available at the Moe’s Hilltop Virginia Beach location. Moe’s teamed up with Icee, producers of the iconic frozen beverage, to offer customers several slushie flavors, including Coke, lemonade, strawberry, mango, blue raspberry and watermelon.

This is not your typical Icee machine, however. Instead of one machine for every flavor, it’s set up like the high-tech Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that can dispense multiple flavors from one spout. Mix the different Icee flavors for a colorful blend or go simple like I did with my mango slushie.

If Hilltop is not your go-to Moe’s, then keep an eye out for spicy chicken and an Icee machine coming to a location near you.
