Fall Menu at Fahrenheit Charlotte
An Uptown favorite, Fahrenheit Charlotte is a rooftop bar and restaurant that offers sweeping skyline views. If you come for the scenery, stay for the menu of contemporary American cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. I was invited to get a taste of Fahrenheit’s fall menu and I’m giving you a look at the dishes and sips of the season.
Fahrenheit Charlotte Fall Dinner Menu
I got to try almost everything from Fahrenheit’s new fall menu. Here’s a breakdown of every dish, cocktail and dessert that I tried. These dishes are available alongside Fahrenheit’s regular dinner menu.
Fahrenheit’s menu is described as contemporary American with an Asian twist. This twist is most prominent in the restaurant’s sushi selections, with options like the spicy tuna Rooftop Roll, the Lightning Roll topped with pepper-seared hamachi and my favorite roll, the Lobster Dynamite. This roll features sweet Maine lobster and baked lump crab, topped with a slice of shiitake mushroom and Tobiko fish roe, and finished with a spicy yuzu dynamite aioli to create an explosive flavor.
Along with sushi rolls, the fall menu also includes a Crab Cake that gets my approval as a Maryland native. While not quite as lump as a Maryland crab cake, Fahrenheit’s crab cake tasted like it was baked with a tender inside and is topped with a drizzle of roasted red pepper aioli and served alongside charred sweet corn relish and blistered heirloom tomatoes.
The filling entrees at Fahrenheit range from Miso-Maple Chicken with Yukon Gold potato purée and roasted wild mushrooms to Pan-Seared Branzino with blistered cherry tomatoes, sauteed spinach and roasted fingerling potatoes. Seafood lovers may also enjoy the Cognac Lobster Mac & Cheese with brie, goat cheese and parmesan, which does break my rule of mac and cheese being made with macaroni (Fahrenheit swaps the noodle for a larger rigatoni that holds more sauce).
As a carnivore, I was nearly drooling when they brought out both Steak & Frites and a 60oz Tomahawk Ribeye. The Steak & Frites are a great option for one person, topping golden, crispy fries with a 14oz New York strip steak and cognac peppercorn au poivre. For a steak with sharing, you can’t skip the 60oz tomahawk that comes with truffle butter that’s torched tableside, accompanied by steak diane sauce and a classic béarnaise.
Nothing says fall more than pork and apples, which is why Fahrenheit’s seasonal menu includes a 16oz Bone-In Pork Chop with gochujang-apple lacquer, apple mostarda and cider-pork jus, plus Yukon Gold potato purée and charred brussels sprouts.
While most of the entrees have side dishes to create a complete meal, you can also order large-portion, shareable sides for the table like Wagyu Fried Rice, Roasted Asparagus and, my personal favorite, the Crispy Brussels with sweet miso and togarashi.
If you manage to save room for dessert, you’re in luck! Fahrenheit’s fall menu features four seasonal desserts. If you know me, you know I usually skip dessert unless a restaurant has one of my favorites, which includes crème brûlée. What better for autumn than a Pumpkin Spice Crème Brûlée, topped with a five-spice whip and brown butter cookie? Almost nothing is better than this fall dessert. I’d come back to Fahrenheit on a night out solely for a cocktail and this crème brûlée.
Fahrenheit’s Asian influence comes through with the Coconut Mango Sticky Rice served with fresh mango, papaya and coconut jasmine rice pudding. However, the restaurant’s Southern location shines with the Banana Pudding Sundae with brûléed banana, brown butter vanilla wafer, bourbon butterscotch, miso vanilla bean gelato and salted pecan. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the Coconut Chocolate Pot de Crème that features dark chocolate, toasted coconut, white miso caramel, coconut Chantilly cream and cocoa nib.
Fahrenheit Charlotte Fall Drink Menu
Pair your dinner with one of these fall cocktails. One of my favorite parts of Fahrenheit’s handcrafted cocktails is that a majority of the drinks can be made with nonalcoholic spirits. Served in the same glassware as the cocktails, those who aren’t imbibing in alcohol can still enjoy an elevated experience that’s beyond just feeling like you’re drinking juice.
If you love apple cider as much as me, Fahrenheit offers the Mezcal-based cider cocktail, Doesn’t Fall Far (which can be made nonalcoholic with Undone spirit’s Not Mezcal) or my selection of the evening, the Fall for Me apple cider spritz with vodka, St-Germain, chai syrup and prosecco.
Other popular fall cocktails include the brown butter bourbon Sweater Weather served with a toasted marshmallow and the Red Flag, a tequila spritz with blood orange and agave. If you order the Fahrenheit Bourbon Smoked Old Fashioned you may get a drink and a show if the staff brings out the giant tower filled with bourbon to craft your smoky beverage.
Fahrenheit Charlotte is located at 222 S. Caldwell St., Charlotte.
